Vilon chemical structure

Vilon is a synthetic dipeptide (L-Lys-L-Glu) belonging to the Khavinson family of short peptide bioregulators developed at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is one of the shortest peptides in that class and was derived from amino-acid analysis of thymus-derived preparations.

It has been investigated primarily in Russian biogerontology and immunology research examining thymic tissue, immune senescence, and gene-expression changes in aging cellular models.
